Tandora - A Pioneer’s Dream
Written to commemorate the centenary of the Titmarsh family's
arrival at Tandora in 1907, this book encompasses the unique
lifestyle and observations made by many generations during
lifetimes of living on the last large coastal property on the
southern Queensland coast. Packed full of interesting facts and
730 photographs, it awakens the reader to the decisions that
have to be made when balancing environmental concerns
against the need for progress, Tandora still has large areas of
totally untouched wilderness and wetlands, as well as thousands
of acres of fully developed grazing and farmland.
The author presents 36 chapters of ‘no holds barred’ interesting
reading that has something for everyone. Droughts, floods,
dingoes, wild pigs, horses, cattle, birds, trees, earthworks are
just some of the topics explored. Another chapter written by the
author's great grandmother in 1901, describes life in Brisbane
from when she arrived there as a child in 1853.
